Fresno State will provide $25,000 in matching scholarship funds for students in the Bulldog Bound program, in partnership with The Foundation for Fresno Unified Students. 25 Bulldog Bound students who were awarded $1,000 Fresno Unified Scholarships will receive a matching award from Fresno State. The matching funds will be applied to the students’ full-time enrollment tuition for a total of $500 each semester.

“We’re excited to see Fresno State’s matching scholarship support continue making a real difference for our Bulldog Bound students—helping close the financial gap and giving them the opportunity to pursue and achieve their college dreams,” said Fresno Unified Superintendent Misty Her.

Since its inception in 2009, over $2.4 million in Fresno Unified Scholarships have been awarded to graduating seniors. This year, $400,000 is being awarded to 325 graduates, along with an extra $26,428 in additional scholarships for a total of $426,428 being awarded to 330 graduates.

“Our students are our greatest investment, and we’re incredibly grateful to Fresno State for partnering with us to expand opportunities through the Bulldog Bound program,” said Wendy McCulley, chief of the Office of Engagement and External Partnerships and CEO of The Foundation for Fresno Unified Students.

The Foundation for Fresno Unified Students’ mission is to ensure every student in the District has the tools and resources to reach their full potential. As the strategic fundraising partner for Fresno Unified, The Foundation for Fresno Unified Students is working with schools, the District, and the wider community to drive student success through funding of the highest-impact investments.

“Our partnership with Fresno Unified through Bulldog Bound continues to strengthen pathways for local students to access higher education and thrive,” said Phong Yang, Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Fresno State. “These scholarships are an investment in the future of our students, families, and the Central Valley community we proudly serve.”
