Driven to close the achievement gap for low-income students, Wendy leverages her extensive business and academic experience to increase access points to high-quality education for the nation’s most vulnerable students. With graduate degrees in both Education Policy and Business from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in History from Harvard University, Wendy brings a results-oriented approach to her advocacy work for social change in public education. Wendy is the Founding Director of Fresno Unified’s Office of African American Academic Acceleration (A4).

Chief Engagement and External Partnerships Officer, Fresno Unified School District
Linda Laettner has devoted 34 years of her career to the students and families of the Fresno Unified School District. She has served in several positions which include special education teacher, instructional coach, several site leader roles, and high school Principal. She is passionate and committed to closing the gaps for students at all levels of the K-12 system. With her extensive experience across the educational system, Linda is able to assess, engage, and develop partnerships that are focused on meeting the needs of high-need student populations.

Dr. Andrew Scherrer is currently Executive Officer with years of experience in teaching, instructional coaching, developing curriculum, designing high-quality professional learning, and specializing in initiative implementation. Andrew was vice principal and principal of Computech Middle School before moving to the district office in the department of Equity and Access. Andrew comes with certifications in Cognitive Coaching and Cultural Proficiency and serves as a Senior Associate for the Center for Culturally Proficient Educational Practices (CC-PEP). Andrew is passionate about studying assessment and data that drives academic and social-emotional success of all students through the support of teachers and educational leaders. Drawing inspiration from his wife and two children, Andrew continues to look for ways to hone his servant leadership practices and fill his bucket as a lifelong learner.

Darryl has utilized his degree in Business Administration from Fresno Pacific University to develop relationships with businesses throughout California and has conducted over 4,000 workshops and trainings during this time. Darryl has served as a community coordinator, mentor, instructor, and mediator, and now serves as a project manager in the Foundation for Fresno Unified Schools. He has a passion for bringing people together for a common cause to effect change in the lives of our youth and community. Darryl understands that life is a series of choices, and he speaks directly to what motivates people to get off the sidelines and become active participants in the direction of their life’s course.

Eric Maul serves as the Development Manager at the Foundation for Fresno Unified Schools, bringing over twenty-five years of extensive experience in institutional advancement within diverse sectors including community outreach, animal welfare, healthcare, and higher education. A seasoned professional, Mr. Maul’s expertise spans major gift officer roles, coupled with a comprehensive background in fundraising strategies and relationship building. Dedicated to community service, Eric is a member of the East Fresno Rotary and has offered his leadership skills on the board of directors of local organizations such as the Central California Chapter of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia and the Fresno Discovery Center. Beyond his professional commitments, Eric is passionate about various interests including gardening, amateur history, genealogy, and advocating for STEAM education.
