In a powerful show of partnership and investment in student success, Fresno State will match $25,000 in scholarship funds for Bulldog Bound students, in partnership with The Foundation for Fresno Unified Students.
Twenty-five graduating seniors who each received a $1,000 Fresno Unified Scholarship will now receive an additional $1,000 from Fresno State—for a total of $500 per semester toward their full-time enrollment tuition.
“We’re thrilled that the matching scholarship dollars from Fresno State for our Bulldog Bound students will continue to bridge the financial gap and empower our students to achieve their college dreams,” said Fresno Unified Superintendent Misty Her.
Since launching in 2009, Fresno Unified’s scholarship program—fueled by fundraising from The Foundation—has awarded over $2 million in support to graduating seniors. In 2025, the program reached a historic milestone:
- $400,000 awarded to 315 students
- An additional $41,200 awarded to 18 more students
- Total: $441,200 in scholarships for 333 graduates—the most in Fresno Unified history
“Investing in our students is crucial, and we are deeply grateful to Fresno State for their dedication and partnership through the Bulldog Bound program,” said Wendy McCulley, Chief of the Office of Engagement and External Partnerships and CEO of The Foundation.
Fresno State President Dr. Saul Jiménez-Sandoval added, “At Fresno State, we are committed to making higher education more accessible and affordable for every student in our region. Through this partnership with Fresno Unified and The Foundation, we are not only opening doors—we are building pathways that empower students to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to the Central Valley’s future.”
