This scholarship honors Jim by providing for a student who attended one of these schools.
Graduating high school seniors who attended Gaston (formerly Carver), Malloch, Burroughs, or Anthony elementary school
Plans to attend a community college, 4-year university/college, or trade/technical school
No GPA Requirement
Current transcript with current 10-12 augmented GPA
Submit completed on-line application including information about academic major/area of study, educational plan, school and community involvement, future goals/career aspirations and financial need.
A selection committee will evaluate the applications using a scoring rubric that reflects the eligibility criteria.
A minimum of a $5000 scholarship will be awarded. This may decrease upon availability of funds.
Students must show proof of enrollment at a community college, 4-year university/college, or trade/technical school for fall of 2024 to claim their award.
