The Foundation for Fresno Unified Students has received a $50,000 grant from Kaiser Permanente to expand access to student mental health services across Fresno Unified School District. This vital investment will support the development of innovative, student-centered strategies that promote wellness, equity, and empowerment.

Working in close collaboration with Fresno Unified and local mental health providers, The Foundation will use the grant to advance a two-part approach:

  • Student & Family Engagement – Through student-led design labs, peer leadership training, and listening sessions with families, the initiative will center lived experiences to co-create mental health solutions that truly resonate with the community.
  • Innovative Access Solutions – By exploring telehealth models and mobile care delivery, The Foundation will work to reduce barriers and bring services directly to students—especially those who may not otherwise have access.

The initiative will also include opportunities for The Foundation’s Student Advisory Council to pilot resource awareness campaigns at their school sites, helping to shift culture and increase engagement around wellness.

Aligned with The Foundation’s Cornerstone of “Innovate,” this project represents a bold step forward in addressing mental health challenges with creativity, compassion, and community collaboration.
