These appointments bring a wealth of experience in education, finance, civic engagement, and community development. They strengthen The Foundation’s mission to ensure every student in Fresno Unified has access to opportunity.

“We are thrilled to welcome Laura, DJ, Babatunde, and Zak to our Board,” said Wendy McCulley, Chief of the Office of Engagement and External Partnerships and CEO of The Foundation. “Their diverse expertise and deep dedication to our community will strengthen our mission to ensure every student has access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.”

Each new member brings unique strengths to the board:

  • Laura Schlundt, Controller at Net Positive Consulting Engineers, brings strong financial acumen and a passion for community service through her work with the Rotary Club of Community Action in Fresno County. She became a Foundation Board member in January 2025.
  • DJ Criner, Senior Pastor of Saint Rest Baptist Church, is a community advocate known for his work in youth mentorship, social justice, and food insecurity. He became a Foundation Board member in March 2025.
  • Babatunde Ilori, CEO of edtech company Parsec Education, offers deep expertise in equity, data-driven innovation, and K–12 school systems. He also became a Foundation Board member in March 2025.
  • Zak Johnson, Senior Vice President and Regional Commercial Banking Manager at California Bank & Trust, is a seasoned banking leader and dedicated volunteer, bringing extensive knowledge of finance and strategic partnerships. He will formally become a Foundation Board member in September 2025.
